EMERALD CITY COMIC-CON 2012

Seattle, Washington, USA will be the host for this weekend (March 30 - April 1) to the Emerald City Comic-Con, which in its 10th year anniversary will be full of surprises.

One of such surprises is this litho (left) Alex Ross made for the convention which depicts the "Crusaderette" a kind of super-hero symbol/mascot for the convention.

This 18" x 24" (46 x 61cm) print will be limited to only 750 copies and will only be available at the ECCC booth #514. Sadly, Alex Ross will NOT be at the convention but this print will. Get yours while they last and enjoy the Con...

NEW ARRIVALS: TWO MORE ASTRO CITY HARDCOVERS

Well as if last week's Astro City: Confession Hardcover wasn't enough I have now officially IN MY COLLECTION the first four tomes of this amazing series by Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson.

It's still a long way to go for the Astro City area of my collection to be complete but looking at these 4 volumes and their amazing dust jackets together with the amazing art by Alex Ross just reminds me of the fun of collecting.
Enjoy the artwork!

Add the two above to the previously posted ones below: Confession and Family Album.

NEW ARRIVAL: ASTRO CITY - CONFESSION HC

Here it is. As a collector, I feel really proud of having this Hardcover edition of Astro City: Confession IN MY COLLECTION. It is SO hard to find and when you do find one it's either in poor condition or really expensive, which is strange since 1200 editions were made which isn't exactly very limited.

So since I haven't bought something really spectacular for my collection in a while and the opportunity presented itself, I decided to get it and now I have this gorgeous book which houses not only one of Astro City's most amazing story arcs but one of Alex Ross' most spectacular covers which I now offer to you, fellow collectors as a fairly big image so you can use it as a wallpaper and such. Plus, on the left you'll see the book cover without the dust jacket as well as the signatures page.

Trust me this is THE ONLY image of this cover/dust jacket (and the signature page) in this resolution on the internet. If you have been looking for this pic you would've found it in microscopic size. Not anymore thanks to your friendly neighborhood Alex Ross Collector. Remember to give credit where it's due.

NEW ARRIVALS: WARHOL EXHIBIT STUFF

Last October The Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA, USA organized an exhibition of the art of Alex Ross, which lasted 3 months.
Alex Ross created a special print of Andy Warhol for the exhibit which can be seen in some of the promotional material for the exhibit.
On the left you see the special program which was created to showcase the exhibit featuring a brief history of comic books, a biography of Alex Ross and the artwork that was going to be shown at the gallery including pieces by Alex's mom Lynette, as well as other renowned artist such as Andrew Loomis, Norman Rockwell and Warhol himself. (I'll scan this program as soon as I can, it's truly remarkable)

Photos and scans of a promotional flyer of the exhibit (blue one), a flyer for Alex Ross' signing session (the one with Alex's photo)
and a flyer promoting the films that were played during the exhibit (Flash Gordon, Escape from NY, etc). Also a copy of Carnegie magazine with the Mythology Superman cover and a bookmark, and the 38'' x 27'' (96.5 x 68.5 cm) print with the Warhol flying image.
