There's a great interview with Alex Ross over at Newsarama in which he discusses his latest project called MASKS. Here's an excerpt on what motivated this project:
"My love for heroes of that era stems out of my love for the Shadow, and I realized a number of years back that unlike Marvel and DC where those heroes rub elbows with each other, the pulp heroes haven’t really had the opportunity to do a proper team-up."
