ALEX ROSS INTERVIEWS

Plenty of interviews online for your reading pleasure. First there's a 2 part interview over at Comic Book Resources about Kingdom Come and Alex's return to these characters with Geoff Johns in the pages of Justice Society of America. Here's Alex's original comments about Kingdom Come:

'Kingdom Come' was a reaction to the current state of comics. The term 'super-hero' is a misnomer. It's more as though 'super-human' is the proper term for contemporary 'super-hero' characters, because 'hero' denotes some sense of ethics. And you won’t find ethics in your average comic book. --ALEX ROSS, 1997

Also at Newsarama.com, three of the new Vampirella series' cover artists Jelena Kevic Djurdjevic, J. Scott Campbell and Alex Ross discuss the character and their motivations behind the art for the first issue of the new Dynamite Entertainment series.

TOY DESIGN SKETCHBOOK VOL.1

The 2010 New York City Comic-Con brought alone volume one of what would hopefully be many volumes of pure toy & statue design sketches. This volume contains turnaround full body designs of many characters you probably have on your shelves as either an action figure or a statue/bust as well a s some designs which sadly never made the cut (Please DC Direct make the armored Wonder Woman and Hawkman figures as well as the JSA Power Girl. Pretty please?)

Anyway, until those figures get made, enjoy the sketchbook.
