JUST IN: TWO VERY POLITICAL LITHOS

I've able to get these two very hard to find lithos. The one on the left is the hard-to-find 1997 San Diego Comic-Con Uncle Sam litho which was only available at that venue. The other one is the sold-out "Time for a Change / Super-Obama" print. There were two versions of this litho. Version 1 was sold at the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con and latter reissued on Inauguration Day to celebrate Barack Obama's first day as President of the U.S. This second version came with the caption and date you can see below.

NEWS: NEW SKETCHBOOK(S) [UPDATE]

Source: AlexRossArt.com
This is the exclusive sketchbook that is going to be available at the Lucca Comics & Games Festival 2010 in Italy. Alex Ross has been a part of this convention for a few years now and this is the first time he has made a sketchbook for this event and as you can see the cover includes Alex's famous "La Femme Comique" piece which he did as a print for Chicago Comics as well as tons of new sketches by Alex as these books are famous for.

So from October 29th to November 1st, the Italian city of Lucca will be the place for all our European friends to get this sketchbook as well as new pieces of original art by Alex Ross. So, mark your calendars!

I just got word that there will be another sketchbook at this year's New York City Comic Con (Oct. 8 - 10) and our good friends at Alex RossArt.com will also be bringing limited copies of the Lucca Convention sketchbook so that a few collectors in the US can get their hands on them before they are shipped to Italy.
Stay tuned for more info!

JUST IN: JUSTICE SOCIETY SERIES 2 FIGURES

I have been so busy updating sections of this site with higher resolution art and  with, you know, my regular job and my family that I almost miss this set of figures at my local comics shop. But luckily I got them.
The series 2 of the Justice Society line, features characters which may be little-known but they're intricately sculpted to perfection. The level of detail is phenomenal. The Kingdom Come Superman is the best Superman sculpt EVER for any of figure based in Alex's work. Hourman's costume is so cool I'd like to dress like him for Halloween. And the girls also rock! especially Stargirl, the figure really captures her sweet, teeny-bop innocence and the motion on Cyclone's hair and dress is very life-like.

I'll post better pics as soon as I have them!

JUST IN: KINGDOM COME & TORCH

Hi everyone! I finally got around to getting the first trade paperback for kingdom come with its amazing wraparound cover, which I would love as a poster!

Next up is the only token of Alex Ross art to be found at this year's San-Diego Comic con, since there wasn't a sketchbook. It's a bookmark of The Torch in all his creepy, I'm-not-really-burning glory. Check out the scans below!

NEWS: ALEX ROSS' BATMOBILE

Polar Lights, a manufacturer of movie-related model cars and starships, are releasing a classic Batmobile from the Batman TV show from the 1960's and they recruited Alex Ross to paint the box art (above). Look for it at toy and hobby shops next year.

I'll have more information and a bigger scan of this as soon as it becomes available!

UPDATE: COLLECTOR'S PLATES

The collector's plate section has been updated with the box art of the plates (above) and now the Teen Titans (left) and the Plastic Man (right) plates are IN MY COLLECTION. I can't tell you how amazing these plates are, The colors are so lush and the images are so energetic. They're probably Alex's best work. I couldn't take my eyes off them!

JUST IN: SPACE GHOST AND MORE...

I've just been able to include in my collection the six-issue Space Ghost mini-series and I bought it at a very cheap price which is unheard of for this series which somehow sells at very steep prices on eBay. I've made new high resolution scans of each cover hence updating the section on this character. Here are the covers:

Also, I found this nifty item while surfing the net. It's a DC Comics official Alex Ross Justice messenger bag. My wife had the awesome idea of getting it and using it as a diaper bag for my son Alex. Now we carry our baby stuff in the coolest diaper bag an Alex Ross collector could have.
