MY TWO CENTS:
Woohoo! A new Invaders series, great cover, I especially dig the face of Captain America and Namor they're so freakin' real, Cap looks like actor Mark Valley from the TV Show "The Human Target". Great experiment with psychodelic lighting on the Green Hornet but the coolest is the Phantom cover, the work on the canopy and the extreme angle embodies what I always remember about "The Ghost who Walks", action-packed stories set in the middle of Africa.

Back in business! Yes, this site is back with a bang. What just got to my door are 2 Flash Gordon prints from the 2008 SDCC. These gorgeous mini posters came signed by Alex and they are just so awesome. The likenesses are dead on and they look really amazing.

VIDEO: SAL ABBINANTI INTERVIEWS

Fellow blogger and art connoisseur Christopher Moonlight has alerted me of a couple interviews he did for his Moonlight Art Magazine with our pal Sal Abbinanti of AlexRossArt.com fame, on the subject of the use of photographic reference in art.

Check out the videos below:

NOTE: I'm still not out of the woods yet with the whole internet thing. I'm posting this from my wife's computer at her workplace. I expect to have internet access at home during the week.

Also, expect my "two cents" on the subject of Alex Ross and his use of photographic reference in his work, soon.

THE 2010 C2E2 SKETCHBOOK

This sketchbook is hands down the best one so far in my opinion. The San Diego Comic-Con ones are great, don't get me wrong but this one excels at showing artwork that was left on the cutting room floor and there's so much variety in it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Planet of the Apes since I was a kid and to see Alex render these characters is truly awesome, here's hoping that Dynamite will make a series out of this characters with cool Alex Ross covers. I also dig those sketches for the Fighting American and American Woman. Retro-cool!

Special thanks go to our friend Sal Abbinanti from AlexRossArt.com for being so cool and sending me this sketchbook
