This sketchbook is hands down the best one so far in my opinion. The San Diego Comic-Con ones are great, don't get me wrong but this one excels at showing artwork that was left on the cutting room floor and there's so much variety in it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Planet of the Apes since I was a kid and to see Alex render these characters is truly awesome, here's hoping that Dynamite will make a series out of this characters with cool Alex Ross covers. I also dig those sketches for the Fighting American and American Woman. Retro-cool!

Special thanks go to our friend Sal Abbinanti from AlexRossArt.com for being so cool and sending me this sketchbook
I had no idea that Alex did work on Planet of the Apes. That was one of my favorite SF movie series too. A very nice surprise to get a tantalizing glimpse into that world again.
Fighting American is cool, and American Woman is hot! (grin)
There is not enough to say about the group shot of the Justice League: another 'grail.''
Love that rendition of the Red Skull, too. Alex's work on the Captain America characters was beyond compare. You can see the same energy in his recent Dynamite covers.
Thanks again. Now I have fresh desktop wallpaper. All fantastic, all Alex, all the time. (grin)
If you ever decide to sell your sketchbook, please let your friends know! You lucky dog!
Dang, now I really wish that Dynamite could have gotten the rights to publish Fighting American. Just based on the sketches for the covers, I would have bought the whole series!

American Woman looks a little like Michelle Obama, especially the eyes!
