STATUES & BUSTS: part 7

EARTH X BUSTS (Final): We continue with this large set of busts. Now, let's cover the ones that were designed by Alex Ross but sculpted and painted by many other talented individuals.

HULK & BANNER: This oversized (compared to the rest of the mini-busts in this line) was only designed and painted by Alex Ross and sculpted by Joe DeVito. It was limited to 3900 units and depicts the ape-like Hulk separated from Bruce Banner who's now, a child. As with many other Earth X busts there's also a bronze version of this one.
Check out more photos at Joe DeVito's website.

DEATHLOK: (LEFT) Creepy choice of character. Sculpted by Martin Canale and Pablo Viggiano. This bust was limited to 3000 units. Visit Martin Canale's website. Click here.

THOR - GODDESS OF THUNDER: (RIGHT) Sculpted by fan-favorite Mike Hill, in another great collaboration with Alex. This statue was limited to 2500 pieces.

OFFICER PARKER: These statues' production numbers keep getting smaller each time. This bust sculpted by Howard Kalish and painted by Dan Lane is limited to 700 pieces.

IRON MAN 2020: (LEFT) This rare item was sculpted by Martin Canale and painted by ACME Designs. It's really hard to find one of the 550 pieces that were produced.
BLOODSTORM: (RIGHT) Even more limited than the previous one (450 units) but somehow easier to find this vampiric storm was sculpted by Gabriel Marquez and painted by Dan Lane. See more of Gabriel Marquez's work here.

SPIDERS MAN (LEFT) and BLACK BOLT (RIGHT) were also produced in a limited to only 450 units run. Both were sculpted by Howard Kalish and painted by Dan Lane and Acme Designs respectively. These are the crown jewels of this collection, if you have any of them consider yourself lucky.

There were also 2 other prototype busts that, to my knowledge, probably never got past the prototype stage, one is of the demon Belasco (right) and the other was Hyperion. If anybody has any information about these 2 please help me out. Thanks!

These sculptures are NOT IN MY COLLECTION, that's why I don't have better resolution images of them. Remember, the more limited the statue the more expensive it gets. I've seen the Black Bolt one being sold for US$200.

Wow. Either I am blind or these did not get a whole lot of trade coverage, because I had no idea about most of them. My favorites are the ones that show the most recognizeable characters with unusual twists, like female Thor or grey haired Peter Parker. You wonder about the story behind them.

I saw Goddess Thor at my comic store and it looked great, but somebody else got it. Same with Earth X Hulk. Sigh. :)

Thanks Andres! Some things to watch for at the next convention.
