BATMAN - BLACK & WHITE
These series of statues are taken from the comic books of the same name and feature designs by all those who were involved in the acclaimed anthology mini-series including Jim Lee, Lee Bermejo, Ed McGuinness and of course, Alex Ross.
This wonderful statue was sculpted and painted by Karen Palinko to fully capture the monochromatic grayscale of the series. It's very dynamic and features that ever-popular angry face that Alex places so well in Batman (check out the photos below). It measures around 7.5'' (19 cm) tall and retails for about US$60 to US$75. It's not a very limited edition so it shouldn't be too difficult to find at your local store or at ebay.

BATMAN - DARK CRUSADER
This statue is based on the now-classic design Alex Ross made for the DC character posters. It was sculpted and fully-painted by Adam Beane and it stands approximately 12'' (30 cm) tall.
The pose on this statue is less dynamic due to the fact that is based on those posters in which the characters appear to be on a photo shoot but it retains the leather like cape that Alex gives the Dark Knight to make him look more bat-like and I think that is just brilliant on both of these statues. This statue is limited to 3200 units and it can be found on Ebay for a price that ranges from US$175 to US$200.
As I said before I have yet to begin my collection of these bad boys so these statues are NOT IN MY COLLECTION.
If you have any of these statues and like to take pictures of them, send them in and I'd gladly post them.

MY TOP TEN POSTERS
Hey guys! let's do something fun! My friend and frequent collaborator on this blog, Jeremy suggested this topic. It's my Top Ten posters by Alex Ross. I'd also like to know your picks! so tell me in the comments section and let's start a friendly discussion.
Here are mine in no particular order:
1. Earth X poster: A complete story told in mural form. Priceless!
2. Crisis on Infinite Earths poster: One mural, one massive story and 562 characters telling it. It'll never get any better than this.
3. Captain America "Origin" poster: Only Alex can tell Cap's story in such a dynamic way and using the flag as a template, nonetheless.
4. Alex Ross' X-Men "Wizard" poster: Cool designs that weren't accepted by Marvel. Love 'em! Too bad it's a mini-poster.
5. JLA "Wizard" poster: Another mini-poster yet it's larger than life, the characters, the composition, the colors, the poses it's awe-inspiring.
6. 74th Academy Awards poster: The perfect combination of the things I love, movies, the Oscars, superheroes and Alex Ross' art.
7. Kingdom Come "Flying Heroes" poster: That's the most perfect sunset ever painted!
8. Batman Beyond: Such a cool composition, it gives me goosebumps!
9. Supreme family poster: You have no idea how many "wows" this poster gets and nobody, not even myself, knows who all these characters are. It's THAT iconic.
10. Spider-Man & Spider-Woman "Upper Deck" poster: Always had a soft spot (and the hots) for Spider-Woman while watching her cartoon show when I was a kid and now check out the hot-as-hell body Alex gives her! 'Nuff said!

STATUES & BUSTS: part 3
KINGDOM COME MULTI-CHARACTER STATUES
These statues were designed by Alex, yet not sculpted by him, they were done by Tony Cipriano. They were suppossed to be more of these but they only made these 2 and then discontinued the line. There's no reason for the specific grouping of characters in each bust except for their color schemes, I guess. They do not come with an original Alex Ross design, either.
They are a lot smaller than the previous ones, these measure around 6 inches (15 cm) tall and each came with 3 characters just posing for a photo shoot, because there isn't much action in them. Well, they aren't "action" figures to begin with.
On the left, we have the Superman/Hawkman/Red Robin combo which was limited to 1100 statues. Superman looks like a mix of the silver statue and the KC action figure, Hawkman looks much more badass in the action figure than here and Robin looks IDENTICAL to the action figure, a mixed bag altogether.
On the right, there's the Green Lantern/Spectre/Norman McCay statue, which is way more limited than the previous one, only 700 statues were made. Again the figures look too much like their action figure counterparts, my guess is that it's the same sculptor, I'll look into it.

These statues are NOT IN MY COLLECTION yet so I'll reserve any further comments on them when I've actually seen them up close.

STATUES & BUSTS: part 2
KINGDOM COME SHAZAM STATUEThe second, and last, one of these wonderful statues came in the form of The World's Mightiest Mortal. This bronzed statue had similar measures as the Superman one and also the same limited edition of 5000. This giant statue was also designed and sculpted by Alex himself and it included a mini print of the design signed by him. Getting this statue could be just as difficult as finding its predecessor or maybe even more so. It's being offered on ebay for around US$250 to US$ 350.
This statue also had a smaller colorized counterpart which just ruined the whole thing, 'cause in the latter version Shazam's face isn't quite right and looks like a complete dork. What is really odd is that both colorized versions were limited to only 3000 pieces, a smaller run than the much cooler, monochromatic ones. Go figure!
I have barely begun my Alex Ross statue collection so these items are sadly absent from it.
