THIS JUST IN: LEE'S COMICS PRINTS

Our dear friend Lee Hester from Lee's Comics has generously contributed with my Alex Ross collection by sending me the 3 prints his store and Alex have made, along with a photo (left) of the 2003 signing at their Mountain View, California signing (left to right: Mark Crane - Lee's Comics General Manager, Paul Dini - writer of The Oversized books, Chip Kidd - writer and designer of Mythology: The DC Comics art of Alex Ross art book and Alex himself). So, thank you very much Lee. You rock!. Visit Lee's Comics Ebay Store and get the prints yourself.

INKING AND COLORING ALEX ROSS' ART

Our good friend and frequent collaborator Jeremy Engel has found this cool bit about Alex Ross. At the Comic Art Fans Galleries & Marketplace website, they've taken a sketch of Poison Ivy Alex did for the Justice 12-issue series (left) and gotten a few industry veterans like Micronaut's Michael Golden and Heavy Metal's Alex Niño (right) and some up-and-coming artists to give inks and colors to the image. The results can be seen here. There are some pretty interesting images there. Go check them out and tell me what do you think!

NEWS: ALEX ROSS AND KEVIN SMITH'S GREEN HORNET

Dynamite Entertainment has done it again. They have taken, yet another classic character and made it into a comic, not without first putting it in the capable hands of Alex Ross, to completely redesign it. This time is "The Green Hornet" who along with a female Kato, will be battling crime, pulp-style courtesy of another personal favorite of mine, filmmaker Kevin Smith.
It's kind of weird that they would work together since they had a feud going back to Kevin's second film "Mallrats" where Stan Lee, playing himself, took credit for creating all the classic Marvel characters, to which Alex got angry, publicly, because they didn't mention Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and the rest of creators. Kevin, then, again publicly told Alex he was overreacting. I guess they just buried the hatchet, and us fans are the winners here anyway.

COLLECTOR'S PLATES part 3

Here are 2 very special Batman-related plates. On the left there's the Bat-family in a very retro look, my guess is that, since Alex likes old school heroes, that Robin is Dick Grayson. Great poses, cool background, awesome plate. The one on the right speaks for itself. It's just something that wouldn't happen in a million years, yet it's so funny and Christmas-y. It's Alex taking heroes and villains lightly, without the usual seriousness he gives them.

These plates are NOT IN MY COLLECTION.
