JUST IN: USO POSTER

It finally arrived! I reported that this hard to find poster was up for sale on ebay a few weeks ago and now it's mine. It's amazing. The original owner is in the US Army and collects this type of Americana and decided to sell it finding out who it was from from this very site. Shameless plug aside, this gorgeous poster looks as though it's actually painted in watercolor on a heavy stock paper, through a cool printing process, put in another way, if someone were to spill water on it, the paint would run. It says #24 of 54 so it's extremely limited, and I'm really thrilled to have something so limited in my collection, it's just one more step towards having an actual original piece of art by Alex Ross.

It's definitely printed and not painted as stated here -

Besides to paint 54 of these would take Alex some 6 months and no doubt drive him crazy in the process.

It's printed very nicely on watercolor paper (which is the giveaway as Alex uses Bristol for his work). With this printing method it is possible for the image to take on a painted form and the ink may well even run if wet.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't know that printing process even existed!

The two nearest the front look like Superman and Wonder Woman in the face. Your opinion?

Of course! Taking into account that Alex uses his friends as reference, he just used them here too.
