JSA

Alex Ross has been a collaborator on this title since 2005. He has done covers for this title as well as new character and new costume designs. Geoff Jones is the writer of this series with a host of pencillers. This book gave Alex the opportunity to showcase these classic characters, which he loves, one by one on the covers putting an immense amount of detail on each of them, I mean one thing is telling you about it and another is to actually see what I'm talking about, the wrinkles on the suits AND the faces of some characters are amazing. Above these lines there is a wallpaper of all the characters on the covers, for all my fellow visitors.

Below - First Row: The covers to issues 68, 69, 72, 73 and 74. The first 2 are interlocking and they make up an image of the JSA that was later used in a poster; the next one is a stand alone image and then the covers feature the heroes one by one as you can see, Shazam and Hawkman/Hawkwoman. Second Row: Covers to numbers 75, 76, 77, 78 and 79 with single images of The Spectre, Mr. Terrific and the original Green Lantern and Flash (Alan Scott and Jay Garrick) plus Hourman. Third Row: Cover art to issues 80 and 81 with depictions of Jakeem Thunder and Stargirl, respectively. This series titled only JSA ended with issue 87 and was later relaunched as Justice Society of America with a new issue 1 (more on that on the next post).
